No Frownies.. Brownies!

Sweet things always cheer me up, and after a week of hard work in the Joubert household we were all turning into a bunch of grumps. Luckily my baking skills came to the rescue.

Prep: 15 min
Cook: 45min
Ready in: 1hr
1½ cups brown sugar
¾ cup butter (melted)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
4 eggs
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
*You could also add ½ cup of nuts (walnut, pecan, etc.)
Preheat oven to 180 Degrees Celsius
Grease a deep dish pan (I used cook & spray)
Add the melted butter into a large bowl
Mix the sugar and vanilla essence with the butter
Beat in one egg at a time
Combine the dry ingredients in a separate bowl
Gradually blend the dry ingredients with the egg mixture
Spread the mixture evenly in the pan
Bake for 40-45 minutes
The brownies will pull away from the sides when ready
Let the huge brownie cool before you add any icing or chocolate sauces
I used normal icing sugar, cocoa powder and butter to decorate mine,
No measuring needed, just mix the three together until you get the texture that you want.
Cut the mother brownie into little baby brownies
As you know we live in sunny South Africa & leaving the brownies in room temperature would have melted the icing so I popped them in the fridge. They were amazing!
Enjoy xo
